Use Fabman as a prepaid system

Most people bill with Fabman by letting charges accumulate and then billing all members regularly (eg., monthly) or issuing single invoices on demand.

But you can also use Fabman as a prepaid system, i.e. have members pay upfront before using or booking equipment.

You can decide for each member whether they need to pay upfront or not:

1. Go to their member detail page and click on "Edit".
2. Scroll to "Billing & Payments", check "Require upfront payment" and enter the minimum balance they need to turn on equipment.
3. Click "Save changes".

Here’s how you receive payments to increase a member’s balance:

1. Go to their member detail page and click on "Charges & invoices".
2. Click on "Add payment":
3. Enter the desired amount, select a payment method (eg. "Cash") and click "Save":

You can also directly charge their credit card this way if you have connected your account to Stripe.
